Isis District High School has an enthusiastic instrumental music programme which provides opportunities for involvement in instrumental music lessons and ensembles. The programme encompasses strings, woodwind, brass and percussion instruments and caters for beginners through to more advanced students. Those students who undertake lessons at school are expected to join a school ensemble where appropriate. Any students who learn outside school hours are also welcome to join the school's ensembles.
The school currently has a School Band and Strings groups who provide support for a variety of school and community events. Other specific performance opportunities include participation in music workshops and involvement in eisteddfod competitions and Fanfare festivals.
